Residents may be aware the bollards that were installed by Doncaster Council at the Gamkeeper's Cottage and Trans Pennine Trail entrances to Newlands Park have been vandalised before the concrete had even had chance to set. The Parish Council were successful in obtaining a free tree pack of 30 whips from the Woodland Trust which have been planted on land behind the Skate Park at Anchorage Park. As they are small whips tubing has been placed around them to help them establish. The trees are rowan, silver birch and wild cherry which will provide a small copse at the site. The cycle path at Barnsley Road Playing Field is now complete and open for use. It is a valuable addition to the playing field and provides a safe environment for those wanting to practice their bike riding skills.

Our thanks to Doncaster Council for responding to our request to erect bollards to deter quad bikers from illegally riding along public footpaths in the parish. Two sets have been installed - one at the entrance to Newlands Park, off the Trans Pennine Trail/Anchorage Lane, and the other near Gamekeeper's Cottage, at the entrance to Cusworth Park, close to the lakes.

The Goldsmith Centre is ready for Christmas with the installation of 4 Christmas Trees. The lights are scheduled for switch on the first week of December to coincide with the switch on of the lights in Sprotbrough Village. We hope you enjoy them.
