Neighbourhood Plan

Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to plan for the types of development to meet their community's needs and where the ambition of the neighbourhood is aligned with the strategic needs and priorities of the wider local area.

Further information on neighbourhood planning can be found on the Governments website.

A neighbourhood plan for Sprotbrough has been prepared by a group of local residents, called the Sprotbrough Neighbourhood Champions, supported by the Parish Council and Doncaster Councillor for Sprotbrough, Cynthia Ransome.

Following the positive referendum which took place on Thursday 16th July 2021 Doncaster Council adopted the plan at their Full Council meeting on 23rd September 2021. The plan will now be used to determine planning applications in Sprotbrough alongside the newly adopted Doncaster Local Plan.

The plan can be downloaded and viewed below.

Further information relating to the Doncaster Local Plan can be found on Doncaster Council's website.

When considering planning applications where the neighbourhood plan applies the Parish Council will use the checklist below to consider the policies within the plan and whether the application is in compliance with it. Completed checklists will be available to view below.
